Mediaeval heritage accommodation is Italy's hidden asset for top level tourism in the project "Luoghi del Medioevo - cultural tourism", promoted by the art historians of Associazione MusiKé.
This cultural tourism project around Mediaeval Places began in 2007, bringing together artistic, historical and tourism expertise.
The Association's art historians first made a selection of those parts of Italy with a more mediaeval nature. Mediaeval tourism then officially became a new tourism category.
The concept is based on promoting and at the same time exploiting places and accommodation with genuine mediaeval origins. Its aim is to provide an effective response to domestic and international demand for historical information, quality, uniqueness and exclusive experiences and cultural itineraries.
